Delay to new SEN legislation.

The TES reported delays to the SEN review. Thank goodness Ed Timpson has the sense to put the breaks on if they don’t have enough information to get it right. From what I have heard the ‘Pathfinder’ authorities have been very slow (reluctant?) to run pilots of the proposed reforms, especially concerning personal budgets. Children and their parents deserve better than another hotch-potch.

Missed opportunity in TES

Today’s edition of the TES ran an article on multisensory learning. It’s a shame the opportunity was not taken to discuss sensory processing, sensory integration and sensory modulation and their role in education more thoroughly.

Good to see..

I was lucky enough to go and see the plans for a rebuild at an SEBD secondary provision today. Good to see a local council putting money into the infrastructure for children with additional needs. (Well done Slough).
